Shinhotaka Parking (Takayama City, Lots 1–4)

Takayama City car parks at Shinhotaka Onsen, base for the Shinhotaka Ropeway and Northern Alps trails. Lots 1 (113 cars) and 2 (85 cars) are open all year; Lots 3 (206 cars) and 4 (40 cars) open only in summer and autumn and need a web reservation. Check the current fees on Takayama City's notice before you go. The Shinhotaka Ropeway runs 8:30–16:00 from 1 April to 30 November and 9:00–15:30 from 1 December to 31 March (from 8:00 in August and on October weekends and holidays; may stop for bad weather or inspections).

Closing days

Lots 3 and 4 do not operate from November to April
