The village-run public car park for visiting Shirakawa-go (Ogimachi village), about 5 minutes from Shirakawa-go IC; cross the Deai-bashi footbridge into the village. It has a tourist information office and toilets. Large vehicles are restricted on the central ~900 m of the village road and cars may not enter the village lanes, so park here and walk. In the autumn-foliage season car spaces may be reduced; when full, staff direct cars to Midashima Park temporary parking (about 120 cars) or Terao temporary parking (about 420 cars) — both 2,000 yen per car, until 17:00 (last entry 16:30). On winter light-up days every vehicle needs a parking reservation, and cars must move to Terao temporary parking by 15:00. Car parking reservations for the 2027 (41st) light-up are sold online only on the Shirakawa-go Tourist Association website, by credit card only: the first round has sold out and the second round opens on 1 December 2026 at 13:00.
